QUESTIONS FOR STEVE TOMS

Steve Toms

Blow the whistle!

It's time to end errant emails and pointless presentations.

What’s with the whistle? It’s time for audiences to blow the whistle on presenters
who say, “As you can clearly see…” and we can’t!

It’s time to return emails that ramble on and on with a strongly-worded request:
"Get to the point."

Fact is, Corporate America is wasting more than $3 billion each year sending
employees to writing and presenting workshops that review basic skills
that should have been learned in college. It’s time to change that.

So another self-help book is the answer? Well, it’s a first step. Stop Boring Us!
is aimed at employees, employers, students, and educators with tips on how to be
more effective communicators. Next comes a certification program to assure employers
that new hires are adequately prepared to produce results.

What’s different about your book? I’m developing a set of basic techniques based on
"Less is more, but presentation matters most. These tips  improve readability and
comprehension of written documents and presentations. They produce results.

I’m also developing an on-line Document Analyzer that focuses on structure and format.
Because if you don’t first capture the attention of your reader or audience, you can’t
make your point.

When will the book be available? Can’t give you an exact date or price, but here
are some preliminary excerpts.

Notify me when the book becomes available.
